Antalya Airport (AYT)
Antalya, Turkey · IATA AYT
About Antalya Airport
Antalya Airport (IATA code AYT) is the main gateway to Turkey's Mediterranean coast, often called the Turkish Riviera. It lies east of Antalya city, a short drive from the centre, and is one of the busiest airports in Turkey, especially in the summer holiday season.
Besides Antalya itself, the airport serves popular resort areas such as Belek, Side, Alanya and Kemer. It has several terminals for international and domestic flights, and many seasonal and charter services operate here alongside scheduled airlines. In peak months the airport can be very crowded, so good planning makes a real difference.
Getting to the city centre
How you travel on depends on where you are staying:
- Airport buses — shuttle services connect the airport with Antalya city and the main bus station, from where coaches run along the coast.
- Taxi — convenient for the city and nearby resorts.
- Hotel or tour transfer — many holiday packages and resort hotels include or offer transfers to Belek, Side, Alanya and Kemer.
- Car rental — a good choice if you want to explore the coast.
For current routes and stops, check the official airport information.
Practical tips
A few simple habits make the airport part of your trip much smoother:
- Arrive early, especially in peak travel seasons: queues at check-in, security and passport control can build up quickly.
- Double-check the airport code and terminal on your booking — cities with several airports are easy to mix up.
- Check passport validity and entry requirements with official sources such as the embassy or consulate.
- In July and August queues at check-in and security can be long — this is the time to arrive especially early.
